  29. :::tip Editor
  30. Any tileset can also be loaded into the tweakpane editor by adding the url and extension to the query params like -
  31. https://threepipe.org/examples/tweakpane-editor/?m=https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NASA-AMMOS/3DTilesRendererJS/c7a9a7f7607e8759d16c26fb83815ad1cd1fd865/example/data/tileset.json&ext=tileset
  32. The controls(environment, globe) can be picked from the UI above by going to Viewer -> Scene -> Camera -> Controls
  33. :::
  34. ## Sample Usage
  35. ### Load and render tileset
  36. To import a tileset, simply add the `TilesRendererPlugin` and load the root json with the plugin or the viewer.
  37. The near, far plane of the camera can be set based on the file.
  38. ```typescript
  39. import {ThreeViewer} from 'threepipe'
  40. import {TilesRendererPlugin, TilesRendererGroup} from '@threepipe/plugin-3d-tiles-renderer'
  41. const viewer = new ThreeViewer({...})
  42. const tiles = viewer.addPluginSync(TilesRendererPlugin)
  43. viewer.scene.mainCamera.position.set(300, 300, 300)
  44. // optional. (Required for GlobeControls)
  45. viewer.scene.mainCamera.autoNearFar = false
  46. viewer.scene.mainCamera.minNearPlane = 1
  47. viewer.scene.mainCamera.maxFarPlane = 1000
  48. // Now load any tileset json file.
  49. const group = await tiles.load('https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NASA-AMMOS/3DTilesRendererJS/c7a9a7f7607e8759d16c26fb83815ad1cd1fd865/example/data/tileset.json', {
  50. autoScale: true,
  51. autoCenter: true,
  52. autoScaleRadius: 100,
  53. })
  54. // or load directly from the viewer. A custom fileExtension or fileHandler must be passed, to tell the viewer the type of the json file.
  55. const group1 = await viewer.load<TilesRendererGroup>('https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NASA-AMMOS/3DTilesRendererJS/c7a9a7f7607e8759d16c26fb83815ad1cd1fd865/example/data/tileset.json', {
  56. fileExtension: TilesRendererPlugin.DUMMY_EXT,
  57. autoScale: true,
  58. autoCenter: true,
  59. autoScaleRadius: 100,
  60. })
  61. ```
  62. Check the [3d-tiles-renderer](https://threepipe.com/examples/#3d-tiles-renderer/), [ogc-tiles-mars](https://threepipe.com/examples/#ogc-tiles-mars/) examples for a live demo.
  63. ### Use `EnvironmentControls` with `TilesRendererPlugin`
  64. ```typescript
  65. import {TilesRendererPlugin, TilesRendererGroup, EnvironmentControlsPlugin, EnvironmentControls2, GlobeControlsPlugin, GlobeControls2} from '@threepipe/plugin-3d-tiles-renderer'
  66. const viewer = new ThreeViewer({...})
  67. const tiles = viewer.addPluginSync(TilesRendererPlugin)
  68. const group = await tiles.load('...')
  69. viewer.addPluginSync(EnvironmentControlsPlugin)
  70. viewer.addPluginSync(GlobeControlsPlugin)
  71. viewer.scene.mainCamera.controlsMode = 'environment'
  72. viewer.scene.mainCamera.lookAt(0, 0, 0)
  73. let controls = viewer.scene.mainCamera.controls as EnvironmentControls2
  74. controls.minDistance = 0.25;
  75. // For globe controls
  76. viewer.scene.mainCamera.controlsMode = 'globe'
  77. viewer.scene.mainCamera.lookAt(0, 0, 0)
  78. controls = viewer.scene.mainCamera.controls as GlobeControls2
  79. // optional. (Required for GlobeControls)
  80. controls.setTilesRenderer(group.tilesRenderer)
  81. ```
  82. ### Additional `TilesRenderer` Plugins
  83. Some plugins are used by default in the `TilesRendererPlugin` to load and render the tileset. These can be disabled/configured when loading a file and more can be added.
  84. Custom plugins can be added to the individual `TilesRenderer` when loading a tileset file.
  85. ```typescript
  86. import {UnloadTilesPlugin, TileCompressionPlugin} from '@threepipe/plugin-3d-tiles-renderer'
  87. const result = await tiles.load('url', {
  88. autoCenter: true,
  89. autoScale: false,
  90. tiles: {
  91. TilesFadePlugin: {
  92. fadeDuration: 0.5,
  93. },
  94. plugins: [
  95. ()=>new UnloadTilesPlugin(),
  96. ()=>new TileCompressionPlugin(),
  97. ],
  98. },
  99. })
  100. ```
  101. ### Loading Cesium Ion Assets
  102. Cesium Ion assets like Google Maps can be loaded with the `loadCesiumIon` function in the plugin, or by passing a custom plugin in the viewer.
  103. ```typescript
  104. const tiles = viewer.getPlugin(TilesRendererPlugin)
  105. const result = await tiles.loadCesiumIon({
  106. assetId: '2275207',
  107. apiToken: CESIUM_ION_API_TOKEN,
  108. autoRefreshToken: true,
  109. }, {
  110. autoCenter: false,
  111. // more options
  112. tiles: {
  113. TilesFadePlugin: true,
  114. plugins: [
  115. ()=>new TileCompressionPlugin(),
  116. ()=>new UnloadTilesPlugin(),
  117. ],
  118. },
  119. })
  120. // or
  121. const result2 = await viewer.load('file.tileset', {
  122. tiles: {
  123. CesiumIonAuthPlugin: {
  124. assetId: '2275207',
  125. apiToken: CESIUM_ION_API_TOKEN,
  126. autoRefreshToken: true,
  127. },
  128. TilesFadePlugin: true,
  129. plugins: [
  130. ()=>new TileCompressionPlugin(),
  131. ()=>new UnloadTilesPlugin(),
  132. ],
  133. },
  134. })
  135. ```
  136. Note - `TilesRendererPlugin.DUMMY_EXT` = `tileset`

  141. ### Loading 3d tiles files
  142. To load any individual tile file format, add the plugin to the viewer and load the file directly as you would with any other file. The plugin will automatically detect the type of the file and load it.
  143. ```typescript
  144. import {ThreeViewer} from 'threepipe'
  145. import {B3DMLoadPlugin, CMPTLoadPlugin, I3DMLoadPlugin, PNTSLoadPlugin} from '@threepipe/plugin-3d-tiles-renderer'
  146. const viewer = new ThreeViewer({...})
  147. viewer.addPluginsSync([B3DMLoadPlugin, CMPTLoadPlugin, I3DMLoadPlugin, PNTSLoadPlugin, LoadingScreenPlugin])
  148. // Now load any file
  149. const b3dm = await viewer.load<IObject3D>('https://example.com/file.b3dm')
  150. const cmpt = await viewer.load<IObject3D>('https://example.com/file.cmpt')
  151. const i3dm = await viewer.load<IObject3D>('https://example.com/file.i3dm')
  152. const pnts = await viewer.load<IObject3D>('https://example.com/file.pnts')
  153. // Load file by data url
  154. const model = await viewer.load<IObject3D>('data:application/octet-stream;base64,...', {
  155. fileExtension: 'b3dm',
  156. })
  157. // or by using `model/<extension>` mime type
  158. const model2 = await viewer.load<IObject3D>('data:model/b3dm;base64,...')
  159. ```
  160. The asset importer will automatically detect the type of the file and load it.
  161. Checkout the examples [b3dm-load](https://threepipe.org/examples/#b3dm-load/),

  164. [i3dm-load](https://threepipe.org/examples/#i3dm-load/) for more details.
  165. ### Loading Image tiles
  166. The package exports plugins `DeepZoomImageLoadPlugin` and `SlippyMapTilesLoadPlugin` to load deep zoom images and slippy map tiles respectively.
  167. They add and use the `TilesRendererPlugin` automatically.
  168. The plugins can be added to the viewer and files can be loaded directly from the viewer or asset manager.
  169. ```typescript
  170. import {ThreeViewer} from 'threepipe'
  171. import {TilesRendererPlugin, DeepZoomImageLoadPlugin, SlippyMapTilesLoadPlugin} from '@threepipe/plugin-3d-tiles-renderer'
  172. const viewer = new ThreeViewer({...})
  173. viewer.addPluginsSync([TilesRendererPlugin, DeepZoomImageLoadPlugin, SlippyMapTilesLoadPlugin])
  174. // Load deep zoom image
  175. const result = await viewer.load('https://openseadragon.github.io/example-images/duomo/duomo.dzi', {
  176. autoCenter: true,
  177. autoScale: true,
  178. autoScaleRadius: 30,
  179. tiles: {
  180. DeepZoomImagePlugin: {
  181. center: true
  182. },
  183. errorTarget: 1,
  184. }
  185. })
  186. const result2 = await viewer.load('https://tile.openstreetmap.org/{z}/{x}/{y}.png', {
  187. autoCenter: true,
  188. autoScale: true,
  189. autoScaleRadius: 30,
  190. fileExtension: SlippyMapTilesLoadPlugin.DUMMY_EXT,
  191. tiles: {
  192. errorTarget: 1,
  193. XYZTilesPlugin: {
  194. projection: 'planar',
  195. center: true
  196. },
  197. }
  198. })
  199. ```
